Hi, my name is Lainie Cassel and I am a Nutritional Therapist Practitioner (NTP), Strength Coach and former NCAA Swimming Coach. I am extremely motivated by the human body and its ability to not only heal from sickness, injury and trauma but also to strive in ways far beyond what we can conceive. My personal experience healing from auto-immune related conditions while also competing as an elite athlete, has given me a unique perspective on the body that I carry into my work with clients.

As a Nutritional Therapist Practitioner, I specialize in helping clients support their metabolism through blood sugar regulation, digestion and hormonal balance. I have worked with everyone from people suffering the side effects of diet culture and eating disorders to elite athletes and individuals with autoimmune conditions.

My approach to nutrition is completely individualized and is meant as an educational tool to guide you on your journey to connecting to your body and understanding its natural hunger signals.

Anti-Authoritarian / Anti-Dogma

A lot of the health world is set up to have us rely on others to tell us what is best for our body and then feel guilty when we do what we are told and it doesn’t work. My approach to health is rooted in the belief that there is no one-size fits all diet and ultimately each person needs to find what is best for them. Therefore, my sessions are largely focused on guiding experimentation, education around physiology and teaching how to listen to ones own communication/hunger signals.

Bioenergetic Approach

We are often taught that our bodies are fighting against us, that our health is pre-determined and that symptoms occur in isolation from one another.

I believe, however, that we have much more control than what we are taught to believe and that when supported as a whole through its environment, lifestyle and nutrition practices, our bodies have the ability to do many of the things we need to live a happy and fulfilled life.

Bioenergetics is a field of science that supports this concept through the study of cellular energy and its the methodology in which I use to guide my work with clients.

Ongoing Education and Research on the Human Body

As a health practitioner, I devote a large chunk of my free time to continuing education, networking with other researchers and making sure I am providing my clients with the best tools I can to ensure their ongoing success.

I focus my study on everything related to the human body, including: scientific research, historical practices, foundations of biology, biomechanics and physiology, philosophy, mental health as well as farming and food industry practices.

    Through restorative and quality movement practices focused on the breath, mobility and strength, clients become more knowledgeable about their body and how to prevent injury while also gaining skills that will cross over to all areas of their life. No matter what your physical goals or starting point, Lainie can help you put together a practice that fits with your schedule and needs.

  • Swimming Instruction

    Lainie combines a basic approach of balance and movement along with college-level technical coaching to provide a unique style of instruction that will take your swimming to the next level. Her lessons, workouts and programs are customized for everyone from beginners to elite triathletes and competitive age-group swimmers.
